Dealing with seat hogs

Some trade fair goers are plenty interested in your food and beverage offerings. They see your stand as a beacon for rest as wall as a cheap restaurant. That’s obviously not your goal. Three elegant ways to dodge the seat hogs and moochers:

  • The leading trick: Has the conversation come to an end and have you had food or a drink together? Take your company to another spot, away from the stand, to a fun or interesting activity.
     
  • The wing(wo)man trick: Has the conversation come to an end and do you need your hands free to address new customers? Announce that you have a next appointment and transfer your company to your wing (wo)man. The company mostly leaves within minutes of this.
     
  • The clock trick: Suggest an informal customer drink at the end of the trade fair day. Especially at large trade fairs, the chance that moochers come by a second time is relatively low.
